Owner/Timber Framer

Dan works harder than any human on the planet with a precision that matches machinist levels. Dan and his tools work collaboratively together on their projects, creating a homogenous and symbiotic relationship that results in beautiful pieces of timber-art.

A true artisan, Dan has honed his craft for nearly 15 years working for Kealey Tackaberry Log Homes, Gibson Timberframes and himself. Prior to this, Dan completed both the Advanced Housing and Heritage Carpentry and Wood Joinery Program at Algonquin College’s Perth Campus. Dan has spearheaded a number of large-scale timberframe projects, as well as Timber Framer’s Guild community build projects. There’s nothing Dan can’t do and he has shown that through his passion and dedication to the craft, and the various projects he has completed in and around Perth, Ontario.

Gillian McKenzie

Business Manager, Architect and Designer

Gillian is Dan’s life and business partner who also runs her own design firm, “Dogwood Design”, in Perth, Ontario. https://www.dogwooddesign.ca/

Gillian is a registered BCIN Designer with a Masters of Architecture from TU Delft, NL. Before founding Dogwood Design she worked as an architect at several offices in Europe.
